Melissa Dawn Barnett (Meredith) passed away February 27, 2021 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Melissa was born February 28, 1978 to Carol Barnett (Petro) and step-father David Petro.
Melissa grew up in Columbus, Indiana and went to North High School. She loved watching TV shows and arguing about them with her friends. She loved spending time with her friends and family and with her god-children Kayla Burns, Christopher Howard and Tyler Howard and their mom Melissa Worton and was present when all of her god-children were born.
She is survived by her grandmother, Naomi Merriman and her grandson Myziah Capps. Melissa was preceded in death by her devoted mother, Carol Barnett (Petro) and her step-father David Petro.
Melissa was loved by her family and a lot of friends. She was a true friend to all the people she touched and she will be greatly missed.
A memorial service to honor Melissa will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Walker Chapel Wesleyan Church, 9705 S 100 W, Columbus, IN 47201.
