COLUMBUS, INDIANA
David J. Anderson, 71, Columbus, passed away May 18, 2021, at his home.
David was born October 9, 1949, in Cave City, Kentucky, the son of Owen Thomas and Betty Lue Key Anderson.
David worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Cummins Engine Company before retiring in 2004 after 35 years of service. He was a certified electrician and held his HVAC license. David enjoyed working on cars, guns, and dirt track race cars as well as watching old westerns. Most of all, David loved spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his children Clifton Thomas Anderson of Columbus and Lori Ann (Thomas) Biddinger of North Vernon; bonus-sons Carson Gilpin and Shawn Gilpin both of Columbus; grandchildren Lindsey N. Anderson, Lilyana Rose Gilpin, Aubbrey, Kristian, and Kody Biddinger as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Charles O. Anderson; as well as a sister Teresa Anne Anderson.
The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Jewell ~ Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses, American Diabetes Foundation, or Organization for Autism Research.
