JCB Brownstown Banking Center closes after fire

BROWNSTOWN — JCB Brownstown Banking Center was notified at 6:25 p.m. Sunday that the center was on fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal.

Bank officials said customers should be assured that none of their banking arrangements, including loans and deposits, were impacted by the fire and all materials within the center are safe and secure.

“On behalf of JCB, I would like to share my deep appreciation to the Brownstown Fire Department and surrounding volunteer departments for their quick response to contain the fire and minimize the damage. We would also like to thank the Brownstown Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance throughout the evening. We are fortunate the fire occurred during non-banking hours. Our team has worked diligently to secure the facility and its contents,” said Marvin Veatch, President and CEO of JCB.

The Brownstown Banking Center will remain closed until further notice. Customers may access their accounts online at JCBank.com, visit one of our nine other convenient locations or call 800-204-6477 for any banking needs.
