State: 132 additional Hoosiers diagnosed with COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Health announced today that 132 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 753,260 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

To date, 13,412 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19. Another 424 probable deaths have been reported to date based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.

A total of 3,578,261 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 3,571,902 on Friday. A total of 10,832,112 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26, 2020.

Bartholomew County is reporting 8,179 positive cases with 157 deaths as of Monday.

Surrounding counties reported:

  • Jackson County: 5,096 positive cases (no change) with 77 deaths (no change).
  • Jennings County: 2,353 positive cases (no change) with 49 deaths (no change)
  • Decatur County: 2,900 positive cases (no change) with 92 deaths (no change).
  • Shelby County: 5,028 positive cases (no change) with 96 deaths (no change)
  • Johnson County: 18,514 positive cases (up three) with 389 deaths (no change)
  • Brown County: 1,044 positive chases (no change) with 43 deaths (no change)

Hoosiers age 12 and older can receive a COVID-19 vaccine; individuals younger than age 18 are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine only. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted at most sites.

As of today, a total of 5,592,460 doses have been administered in Indiana. This includes 2,790,926 first doses and 2,801,534 individuals who are fully vaccinated. The fully vaccinated number represents individuals who have received a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and those who received the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
