The youngest of five, Vicki was never intimidated by being the littlest and turned it to her advantage, when, after honing her skills playing backyard hoops against the big kids, she went on to play high school and college varsity basketball. Vicki was a member of the inaugural Columbus East High School graduating class of 1975 and was on the floor in February, 1973, for the first game ever played in the East gymnasium. She was named MVP of the girls’ basketball team during her junior and senior years at East and earned a basketball scholarship to Ball State University.

In 1979 Vicki graduated from Ball State with a degree in Business Administration and moved to Indianapolis, although she indulged her love of beach life by making regular trips to the Florida coast. After settling in Indianapolis Vicki worked at Blakely’s Flooring as executive secretary and project coordinator for over 35 years. Always a sports fan, she supported all the local teams, especially the Fever, the Pacers and the Colts.

Vicki was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed family visits and parties, especially the annual Christmas celebrations at the family home complete with beautifully trimmed trees overflowing with gifts and meals featuring her mother’s famous home cooking.

Survivors include sister Patricia (Gene) Tharp, of Columbus; brother Mike (Patty) Moody, of Nashville; brother Roy (Dilza) Riddle, of New Port Richey, Florida; 8 nieces and nephews, and 18 great nieces and nephews.
