William “David” (Dog) Wren

William “David” (Dog) Wren, 68, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at 3:10 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. David was born June 27, 1953, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of George W. and Freda Mikesell Wren. He graduated from Columbus High School. He married the love of his life Susan Fonseth Wren April 16, 1983. He worked for Arvin Industries and Columbus City Utilities. He was a lifelong sports fanatic with one of his greatest sports accomplishments was bowling a 300 game. Dog never met a stranger and was always willing to talk. Spending time with family and friends was what he cherished the most. Survivors include is his wife, Susan Wren; his children, Chris (Tara) Wren of Carmel, IN, Amy Wren of Evansville, Ryan (Jodi) Wren of Jacksonville, FL and Matt (Kelly) Wren of Noblesville, IN; sister, Debbie (Bob) Lindemann of Mulberry, FL; 10 grandkids and many friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and father (George & Freda). Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. A private graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Smyrna Lutheran Church Cemetery in Greensburg. Online condolences and special memories may be shared with the family at barkesweaverglick.com.
