Betty Lou Stines

Betty Lou Stines, age 95, of Greenwood, formerly of Nashville passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at American Greenwood Meadows in Greenwood. Born November 11, 1925 in Becks Grove, Indiana, she was the daughter of Thomas Sherman and Lona (Phillips) Cross. She formerly served as the city of Nashville, Indiana Clerk-Treasurer and was the owner of Hedrick Radio Service. After retiring, she lived in Winter Haven, Florida for 15 years before returning to Brown County. Betty was very active in various charities and enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.

Betty is survived by her second husband, Lee Barton Stines, of Nashville; two sons, Gary (Mary) Hedrick, of Martinsville and David (Marianne) Hedrick, of Bargersville, one step-son, Mark (Karen) Stines, of Nashville, one step-daughter, Jennifer (Bob) West, of Jackson County, Indiana, one brother, Robert Cross, of Madison, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Dr. Adrienne Hedrick, Melissa Jennette, Dr. Courtney Hedrick, Dr. Brittany Hedrick, Matthew Hedrick, Rachel Lynch and Sarah Albright; six step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Hedrick and her sister, Velma Moore.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12 at 12 noon at the Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home; 1682 St. Rd. 135 North; Nashville. Burial will follow in the McKinney Cemetery near Becks Grove in Brown County. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
