Driver hits house in Prairie Stream Estates

A local driver was injured after his vehicle crashed into a Columbus home on Wednesday night.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., CPD officers responded to the 6000 block of East Meadow Ridge Road in the Prairie Stream Estates subdivision, in regards to a one-vehicle crash, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When officers arrived, they observed a 2016 Dodge Charger with heavy front end damage and noted damage to a nearby home that the vehicle struck, Harris said.

Witnesses reported that prior to the crash, the driver of the vehicle, Cameron T. Ackerman, 19, of Columbus, was seen traveling at a high rate of speed when he reportedly lost control of his vehicle, Harris said.

Ackerman was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Harris said.
