Pansy D. Whitaker

ADDISON, TEXAS

Pansy D. Whitaker passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Addison, Texas. She was born on January 21, 1927 to Mary and Loren day, in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Pansy was raised in Whitesburg and went on to attend Whitesburg High School. She later married the lover of her life, Charlie Whitaker in 1945 and together they raised 2 children. Pansy worked in the print shop at Costco in Columbus, Indiana for more than 10 years. In her spare time she enjoyed taking walks, gardening, crossword puzzles, and visiting with friends and family. Pansy was an active member of the Addison Athletic Club (AAC) and you could often find her there enjoying, water aerobics, yoga, and weightlifting. She had many friends at the AAC, and she will certainly be missed there. Pansy’s friends and family will remember her as an outgoing, funny, hardworking lady that had an amazing sense of humor. She was always caring and personable with everyone she met. Pansy is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Whitaker (October 1991); brothers, Otis day (October 1991), Eugene Day, and Thomas Day; sisters, Marie Ingram, Katherine Peck, and Dorothy Fields; and her parents Mary and Loren Day. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Berthold (Fred); son, Johnny Whitaker (Tori); grandsons, Jonathan Reilly (Ashley), Ryan Reilly (Sharon), Justin Whitaker (April), and Brolin Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Nathan Reilly, Trisha Reilly, Audrey Reilly, Lane Whitaker, Liam Reilly, Evelyn Whitaker, Kaitlyn Reilly, and Madigan Reilly; sisters, Nadine Miller, and Irene Banks. Pansy is also survived by many loving friends and extended family. The funeral will be held at Valley Home Memorial Old Regular Baptisit Church at 5516 N. Co. Rd. 425 W. Freetown, Indiana 47235, on Saturday 10/9 at 11:30am. The burial will be immediately following the funeral at Valley Home cemetery at the same address.
