COLUMBUS
Doris J. Grayson, 91, of Columbus, passed away at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Doris was born on August 10, 1930, in West Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence and Jeanette Taylor Eggleston. On May 22, 1949, she married the love of her life, Earl C Grayson.
Mrs. Grayson attended St. Paul Lutheran Church – Clifty and worked as an English resource center aide at Columbus North High School. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles each morning along with a hot, fresh cup of coffee. Doris was an avid Pacer’s basketball fan. Doris found relaxation gardening roses with Earl and reading books. She will be greatly missed by those that knew her.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (David) Russell of Seymour, Karyn (Mark) Moore of Charlestown; grandchildren, Michael (Teresa) Palmer of Columbus, Ian (Amanda) Moore of Charlestown; great-grandchildren, Morgan Palmer of Clearwater, FL., Logan Palmer, also of Columbus; as well as several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Carolyn Eggleston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl and brother, Robert Eggleston.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
Burial will be at Westport Cemetery.
