Stahl, Johnson named IBCA Players of Week

Columbus East junior Saige Stahl and South Decatur senior Hunter Johnson have been named the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association District 3 girls and boys Players of the Week for last week.

Stahl scored a career-high 20 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field and had seven rebounds, three assists and four steals in a 71-50 win at Brownstown Central. On Saturday, she recorded 19 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and eight steals in a 62-51 win against Mooresville.

Johnson scored a career-high 42 points to go along with 10 rebounds and two assists in a season-opening 79-71 loss at Trinity Lutheran. He again scored 42 points and had seven rebounds and three assists in an 82-64 win against Switzerland County.

Stahl was the second local player in a row to win the District 3 girls award. Trinity Lutheran junior Bailey Tabeling was the previous week’s honoree.

Jets’ Johnson commits to swim at UIndy

Hauser senior Maggie Johnson has committed to continue her swimming career at University of Indianapolis.

Johnson swam for Columbus East as a freshman before transferring to Hauser, which does not have a swim team. She has competed for Club Olympia.

Johnson will participate in a signing ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 20 in the Hauser auditorium.

Hauser-Morristown game rescheduled

The Hauser at Morristown boys basketball game that was scheduled for Friday has been moved to today.

The game will be varsity-only beginning at 6:30 p.m.
