Joan Theresa Miller

Joan Theresa Miller, 90, went to be with Jesus on December 2, 2021. Joan was born November 23, 1931 to Everett and Marie Weyls Klinker in Lafayette, IN. Joan met and married Ed Miller of North Vernon, Indiana on September 7, 1953. The couple had two sons Ed (Angela) of Columbus, IN and Steve (Janicee) of Batesville, IN. They spent 60+ years in Columbus except for eight years in Madison, IN. Throughout Joan’s working career she was a loan officer in the banking industry. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and had been recently attending Chapel at Four Seasons where she enjoyed Christian fellowship with her fellow residents. Volunteering at Big Brother/Big Sisters was a significant passion in her life. She and Ed considered their “Little Brother” Logan Thrash to be like a son. Joan will be remembered for her fierce love and devotion to her family and friends

Joan is survived by her sons, sister, Marilyn Gick of Otterbein, IN, and four grandchildren: Ashley (Patrick Widmayer), Anna, Lisa, and Evan. She is preceded in death by her husband Ed, two sisters, Donna Brown and Lois Roberts, and a brother Everett “Tony” Klinker.

She was a generous donor to all sorts of charitable causes that touched her heart including Love Chapel, Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center and Transformational Living Ministries. If you wish, memorials can be given in her honor to one of the above organizations or to the church/organization of your choice.
