COLUMBUS
Kathleen A. “Kathy” Lentz, 70, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 10:30 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021; at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Kathy was born in Seymour, Indiana, May 17, 1951, the loving daughter of Olin and Marilyn Rose Pettit Estell. On December 23, 1978, Kathy married Thomas Gene Lentz; he preceded her in death July 19, 2016.
Kathy worked at Como Plastics for 27 years and at other manufacturing facilities in the Columbus area. She enjoyed her membership at the Eagles Lodge No. 741, and she was an avid bowler. Kathy cherished the time she spent with family and friends, and she was an IU Basketball fan. She had a passion for traveling and she always looked forward to Fridays with Edna, having lunch and shopping and an occasional day trip to the casino. Kathy will be remembered as a beloved wife and a loving daughter, mom, mamaw, and friend.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother, Marilyn Estell of Columbus; children, Jason Lentz of Anderson, Indiana and Amber (Eric) Stephens of Columbus; grandchildren, Ayden and Evalyn Lentz and Carter Stephens; sister-in-law, Edna Hilderbrand of Columbus; and many nieces, nephew, cousins, and other relatives.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Olin Estell and her husband, Tom Lentz.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. Daniel Cash officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Kathy will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
