La QUINTA, Calif. — Tyler Duncan fired an opening-round 3-under-par 69 Thursday and is tied for 52nd in The American Express.
Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, was playing the Pete Dye Stadium Course. The rest of the field played the La Quinta Country Club or Nicklaus Tournament Course, and Duncan will play those courses today and Saturday, respectively.
Lee Hodges and Patrick Cantlay, both of which played the La Quinta course, are tied for the lead at 10-under 62.
