BOYS BASKETBALL

Bull Dogs top Cougars

GREENSBURG — Columbus North ran its winning streak to eight with an 80-55 win Monday night at South Decatur.

The Bull Dogs (14-5) built a 28-15 lead after one quarter. They led 44-31 at halftime and 63-41 after three quarters.

Sam King led North with 21 points. Cooper Horn scored 18, Ty Ferguson had 10 and Carson Dibble added nine.

Hunter Johnson, the state’s leading scorer, led the Cougars (8-9) with 29 points. Jacob Scruggs added 12.

GYMNASTICS

East falls to Panthers

Columbus East endured a 101.575 to 94.175 loss to Bloomington South.

Reagan Mount won the bars with an 8.1 for the Olympians. Mount also tied for second on the beam (8.5), took third on the floor (8.6) and tied for fourth in the vault (8.5) on her way to a third-place all-around finish.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Panthers move to final

JEFFERSONVILLE — Jennings County and Seymour were tied at halftime, but the Panthers used a 22-6 third quarter advantge to pull away for a 46-36 win against Seymour in the semifinals of the Jeffersonville Sectional.

Juliann Woodard led the Panthers (17-6) with 11 points. Alivia Elmore and Megan Vogel each added eight.

Jennings County advances to play Class 4A No. 3 Bedford North Lawrence in tonight’s sectional final.

Knights oust Eagles

BRAZIL — Brown County was within 11-9 after one quarter, but Northview pulled away for a 51-36 win in the opening round of the weather-delayed Northview Sectional.

Lexie Austin led the Eagles (3-20) with 13 points.

Cougars advance

CAMPBELLSBURG — Class A co-No. 11 Trinity Lutheran rolled to an 80-9 win against Crothersville in the semifinals of the West Washington Sectional.

The Cougars (15-8) will face West Washington in tonight’s sectional final.
