Bull Dogs place 2nd at invite

CONNERSVILLE — Columbus North finished second in Saturday’s Connersville Invitational. Co-No. 8 Richmond won with a 108.175 to 105.95 for the No. 10 Bull Dogs.

Reese Euler won the floor with a 9.6 and finished second in the all-around with a 37.35, just three-tenths of a point behind defending state all-around champion Austyn Dykes of Franklin Central. Euler also was second on the vault (9.55), third on the bars (9.125) and fourth on the beam (9.075).

North’s Emily Moore won the vault (9.575) and bars (9.775) and finished third on the floor (9.525). But the defending state champion on the beam had only a 7.625 on that event and took fourth in the all-around with a 36.5.

Panthers win in overtime

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County bounced back from Friday’s loss at Columbus East with a 91-88 overtime Hoosier Hills Conference win Saturday against Jeffersonville.

Keegan Manowitz led the Panthers (12-6, 3-3) with 28 points and seven assists. Carson McNulty hit six of the team’s 15 3-pointers and finished with 24 points, while Owen Law added 17 points.

Crusaders falls to Horizon

Columbus Christian was within 26-22 at halftime Friday, but Horizon Christian pulled away for a 62-52 win.

Gabe Ridder led the Crusaders (18-11) with 18 points. Payton Rehlander scored 13, Noah Edwards had nine and Cody Kiefer added eight.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Legacy tops Crusaders

Columbus Christian was held scoreless in the first and third quarters Saturday in a 22-14 to Legacy Christian on Saturday. Sarah Lorimor and Paige Harden each scored four points for the Crusaders (14-12).

Columbus Christian was coming off a 51-12 victory Friday at Horizon Christian. Lorimor led the Crusaders with 24 points, while Madi Blair added eight.

Braves oust Cougars

CAMPBELLSBURG — Class A co-No. 11 Trinity Lutheran saw its season come to an end with a 67-56 loss to No. 7 Tecumseh in the semifinals of Saturday’s West Washington Regional.

The Cougars finish the season 16-9.
