The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a man found in a wrecked car on Tellman Road on Saturday evening, according to a statement from the office issued Sunday night.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s department received a call at 5:47 p.m. Saturday reporting a heavily damaged vehicle in a water-swollen ditch in the 1200 block of West Tellman Road.
First responders arrived to find the occupant of the 2022 Tesla deceased.
Deputy Coroner Charlie Deweese pronounced the man dead at the scene, and later determined his identity to be Fernando Cadena, 40, of Columbus. Cadena’s cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries to the head, chest, and lower extremities.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office also is investigating the incident.
