Yard waste program begins Monday

Columbus residents participating in the city’s yard waste program should be placing all yard waste in the specific yard waste toter beginning Monday. The program continues through Dec. 16.

For those new to the program, a “Toter” brand yard waste container may be purchased at Lowe’s Home Improvements, or residents may participate in our “yard waste” program at the Department of Public Works.

Please have toters and small piles of sticks out to the curb by 7 a.m. on your trash day for collection. An armful of sticks/twigs may be placed in your trash toter.

The Department of Public Works will have a Spring Cleanup April 4th thru April 15th. During that time period, residents may clean up yards, flower beds and fence-rows and then rake it to the curb for collection the same day as trash collection.

Leaf vacs will be collecting loose debris April 4th through April 15th only.
