Jennings deputies claim confiscation of ‘drugs valued at over a half million dollars’ after April 15 arrest

Unsworth
JENNINGS COUNTY — The Jennings County Sheriff’s Department claims it confiscated “drugs valued at over a half million dollars” in an April 15 arrest at a Geneva Township residence.
According to a social media post, deputies arrested Christopher Unsworth, 47, North Vernon, on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and dealing in marijuana, both Level 6 felonies (the lowest felony charge).
According to the social media post, deputies recovered 124 pounds of marijuana, 1 pound of psychedelic mushrooms, 3 pounds of THC resin, THC edibles and numerous other items consistent with a large distribution operation. The investigation eventually led deputies to a Geneva Township residence and storage unit where search warrants were executed at both locations.
During the search of both locations, marijuana, nearly 500 grams of suspected THC wax, THC edibles, THC Vapes, packaging material and more than $40,000 in currency was seized, the social media post said.
The Jennings County Sheriff’s department has provided no additional information or explanation of why the arrest was withheld from the public and the media since April 15.
