About 35 members of Girls Scouts of Central Indiana attended an educational event April 30 at Cummins corporate offices in Columbus to learn about careers in trucking.

“Trucks ARE for Girls,” sponsored through the Women in Trucking Association, featured hands-on exhibits, including a tractor-trailer driving simulator provided by the safety team from Marvin Johnson & Associates in Columbus. The program introduced participants to career opportunities and education about transportation, safety and the supply chain industry.

Girl Scouts also received special transportation or engineering patches for their participation in the program.
