COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Ramona M. Marcum, 58, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at her home in the arms of her husband.
Ramona was born May 6, 1964, in Columbus, the daughter of Maurice and Leona Claghorn Ash. In Jan. 1983, Ramona met the love of her life, Steve Marcum; they recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.
A homemaker, Ramona was a CNA and was previously employed by Willow Crossing Health &Rehabilitation. She was a member of Lowell General Baptist Church where she was a former president of the Ladies Aid.
Ramona loved her family and her savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially around the holidays. Her grandchildren and the family dog, Farrah, were the absolute joys of her life.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Steve Marcum; daughter, Stephanie (Charlie) Sauter of Speedway; sons, Gregory (Shelbie) Burton of Columbus, Steven (Brynnen) Marcum Jr. of Bloomington, and Sigel Marcum of Columbus; grandchildren, Gwendolynn, Destiny, and Gracie Burton, Gregory Burton Jr., Anabel and Charley Sauter, and Reese and Ian Marcum; two great-grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Leona Ash and siblings, Bob, Ruth, Alice, Sharon, Herbie, and Marsha.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; the Reverend Ron Hampton will officiate.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ramona will be laid to rest at the New Harmony Cemetery near Mineral Springs.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ramona to the Lowell General Baptist Church.
