Hauser grad wins law enforcement scholarship

HOPE — Hauser High School graduate Samuel Miller was presented a $750 Indiana Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship — one of 40 Hoosier graduates to receive the honor. The scholarships are awarded to qualified students who are committed to pursuing an education and career in the field of criminal justice.

Miller was presented his scholarship certificate by Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers, Chief Deputy Chris Lane, and Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Resource Officer Jessica Pendleton at Hauser High School.

Miller will attending Trine University to study criminal justice. He hopes to pursue law enforcement with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. “I can’t think of anyone more deserving for the ISA Scholarship,” Pendleton said. “Sam has demonstrated his dedication to improving our society in many ways. He is going to be an asset to any law enforcement agency and the community that it serves.”
