David Dean Fiesbeck

EDINBURGH, INDIANA

David Dean Fiesbeck, 71, a resident of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed from this life at 9:36 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

David was born in Columbus, December 31, 1950, the loving son of the late Ralph C. and Dorothea M. Schulz Fiesbeck. On August 20, 1977, David married Sally M. Clayton; she survives.

David was a 1969 graduate of Southwestern-Shelby High School. David was a U.S. Army veteran; he was a tank commander in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged April 1, 1971.

A lifelong farmer, David strived to care for the land and his crops in the best possible way. If he had a hobby, it would be working with his backhoe to improve the overall appearance of his farms. He was a faithful member and longtime director of the New Hope Christian Church.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 45 years, Sally; his children, Joe (Jayla) Fiesbeck of Edinburgh and Aimee (Matt) Bense of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Bryce and Jacob Bense and Sadie, Colton, and Allie Fiesbeck; brothers, Leroy (Janet) Fiesbeck of Edinburgh, Frank (Karen) Fiesbeck of Columbus, and Dan (Angela) Fiesbeck of Edinburgh; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothea Fiesbeck.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street, John Sichting and Rob Rigsbee will officiate.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

David will be laid to rest at the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Christian Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
