COLUMBUS
Donald L. Spurgeon, 93, of Columbus, was honored on June 25, 2022, at Garland Brook Cemetery for his dedication and service in the Indiana National Guard. He served from 1948 thru 1959 in the 38th Infantry Division, 524th Field Artillery Battalion with the final rank of Sergeant 1st Class. Don was honored with the playing of taps, a 21-gun salute, and the presentation of the United States flag to his son David L. Spurgeon.
