The IHSAA has released its sectional host recommendations for fall sports, and Columbus schools will be playing in some different places than in years’ past.
The East and North boys soccer teams will play in a Class 3A sectional at Roncalli, and the girls soccer teams will play in a 3A sectional at Franklin Central. Hauser’s boys will remain in a Class A sectional at Southwestern (Shelby).
East will host a 4A volleyball sectional that also will include North. Hauser, which is jumping from Class A to 2A, will host a 2A volleyball sectional.
Sectional groupings in those sports, as well as boys and girls basketball, were realigned this spring.
Another change coming this year is the increase in golf regionals from five to six. East and North still will be in the Bloomington North Sectional at Cascades, but now will play the Franklin Regional at The Legends.
The boys tennis sectional still will be at Columbus North, with the regional at Bloomington North. The cross-country sectional and semistate remain at Brown County, and North will again host the regional at Ceraland.
