Ava Bunker
PINEHURST, N.C. — Ava Bunker made a five-shot improvement over her opening round with a 5-over-par 77 Tuesday in the second round of the Junior North & South Amateur.
Bunker, an Edinburgh resident who will be a freshman at Columbus North, shot 39 on the front nine and 38 on the back on Pinehurst No. 6. She had opened with an 82 on Pinehurst No. 2 on Monday and is tied for 67th place at 15-over 159 going into today’s final round on Pinehurst No. 6.
Ting-Hsuan Huang leads the field at 8-under 136. Sarah Lydic of Ocean View, Delaware, is three shots back at 5-under 139.
