North Vernon woman accused of multiple drug-related charges after traffic stop

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a North Vernon woman on multiple charges following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 3:13 a.m., BCSO deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of West County Road 800N and Executive Drive.

After a BCSO K9 alerted to narcotics, deputies located suspected methamphetamine and drug-related paraphernalia.

The driver, identified as Cathy Ford, 54, North Vernon, also had suspected methamphetamine on her person. A total of approximately 7.89 grams of meth was located, deputies said.

Ford was placed under arrest and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where she was remanded on the following preliminary charges:
–Possession of methamphetamine
–Possession of paraphernalia
–Possession of syringe
Ford remains in jail in lieu of $117,500 bond, jail officials said.
