Columbus Go-Karts busy at Tony Stewart Speedway

Columbus native Ron Stillabower won the go-kart pred division class on July 16 at the Tony Stewart Speedway located at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.

The Columbus Speedway Go-Kart Racing which holds events at the Tony Stewart Speedway on the grounds of the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds held a meet on July 16. The division winners were Brenden McGlothen (mod lites), Bentley McCann (rookies), Brooklyn Summers (junior 1), Jacob Chadd (junior 2 and pro purple), Blake Robertson (junior 3), Ron Stillabower (pred), Grant Hiler (medium) and Kyle Thayer (super heavy).

Collins takes Ruwe Memorial at Brownstown

Big money was on the line for the “P3 Graphix” Indiana Late Model Series Pro Late Models on July 16 at the Brownstown Speedway with the running of the $3500 to win “Carey Ruwe Memorial”. Current ILMS points leader Tyler Collins would run down Tyler Cain just past the halfway point of the 30-lap feature and go on to score his third Brownstown win and fifth ILMS win of 2022.

Collins would lead Tyler Neal, Tyler Cain, Steve Peeden and Steve Godsey at the checkers. Rounding out the top ten would be Marty O’Neal, Tory Collins, Zack Burton, Britan Godsey and Chad Stapleton.

Derek Groomer would pick up his second “U.S. Air Force” Modified feature win of the year. Groomer would lead green to checkers over Jordan Wever, Brayden Watson, Tim Prince and Jacoby Hines.

Tucker Chastain would get win number three out of the last four “Pewter Hall” Super Stock features. Chastain would take the lead on lap two and never look back. Zach Sasser, Matt Boknecht, Tanner Chastain and Broc Burton would complete the top five.

“All in 1 Pools” Pure Stock feature action would see Dusten Carr lead all twenty laps to record his second win of 2022. Carr got the win ahead of Jeff Cranmer, Derek Powell, Donnie Wilson and Buddy Stearns.

Make it win number seven for Michael Brewer in “Cain’s Tree Service” Hornet feature wins. Jacob Owens, Davey Waggoner, Zach Johnson, and Kaleb Caudill would round out the top five.

Swanson takes Paragon special

Jake Swanson won the Chuck Amati Classic for 410 non-wing sprints on July 16 at the Paragon Speedway. Alec Gentry was second followed by Andrew Prather, Parker Fredericks, and Kyle Shipley.

Josh Litton won the super stock feature over Austin Phelps, Bryce Shidler, Justin Litton, and Brad Cummings. Phelps won the second feature of the night over Justin Litton, Josh Litton, Randy Brawley, and Cummings.

Rock Crest special tonight

The Rock Crest Raceway formerly known as Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon will host the W.E. Burton Memorial tonight for the pure stocks. Also on the card will be the pro late models, modifieds, super stocks, and hornets.

2022 USAC Sprint Week schedule

The USAC Indiana Sprint Week kicked off last night at the Gas City I-69 Speedway.
