Music fest upcoming in Brown County

Columbus singer-songwriter Derrick Howard will be among musical entertainment at the Good People, Good Times music fest at Explore Brown County Aug. 12-13.

The Good People, Good Times Music Festival is scheduled Aug. 12-13 rain or shine, at Explore Brown County at Valley Branch Retreat, 2620 Valley Branch Road in Nashville.

Music starts at noon Aug. 12 and 11 a.m. Aug. 13 and is slated on two stages with a high-quality light display. The 27-act lineup of local and regional performers includes longtime popular Columbus artist Derrick Howard. The amplified music stops at midnight each night.

Two-day camping is included with admission, with varying prices, such as $100 for both days of the event and tent camping.

Running water, restrooms and showers are available to all ticket holders. Portable toilets will be available onsite around the stage and camping area as well. Ice and firewood will be available for purchase on site. Vendors will be selling a variety of food and nonalcoholic beverages as well as crafts. There will be a live art gallery featuring local and regional artists near the stage.

Different workshops will be provided throughout the weekend. Those workshops are free to all ticket holders.

And besides the music and workshops, there will be art and vendors, face painting and other activities. An adult must be present with children who want to participate in activities, according to organizers.

Also, people are free to bring their own refreshments. Anyone with any form of alcohol must be able to show valid proof of age with proper identification.
