Duncan nets day’s best round, now tied for 9th

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tyler Duncan tied for the day’s best round, a 7-under-par 63, Friday to jump up into a tie for ninth place in The FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Starting on the back nine, the 2008 Columbus North graduate, shot 4-under 31 on his first nine and 3-under 32 on the front at TPC Southwind. He had seven birdies and no bogeys.

Duncan had opened with an even-par 70 on Thursday. He sits at 7-under 133 at the midway point.

J.J. Spaun leads the tournament at 11-under 129. Sepp Straka and Troy Merritt are one shot back and 10-under 130.
