Columbus Fire Department announces promotions

Captain Eric Darlage has been promoted to the rank of battalion chief by the Columbus Fire Department.

Darlage is a 22-year member of the department and previously served as the Battalion-A captain of fire station #1. Battalion Chief Darlage’s certifications and training include: licensed paramedic technician, hazardous materials technician, instructor II, rope recue technician, swift water rescue technician, vehicle and machinery extrication technician, aircraft rescue, confined space rescue technician and fire officer I.

Darlage will serve as the commanding officer of Battalion-A. All Columbus Fire Department battalion chief officers are assigned to Fire Station #1.

Also, Lt. Michael Nida has been promoted to the rank of captain. Captain Nida is a 22-year member of the department and previously served as the Battalion-C lieutenant of fire station #2. Captain Nida has been assigned to serve as the Battalion-A captain at Fire Station #1.

Nida’s certifications and training includes: Emergency medical technician, hazardous materials technician, Instructor II, fire inspector II, aircraft rescue, rope rescue technician, confined space rescue technician and fire officer I.
