Dale Eugene Wolfe

NORTH VERNON

Dale Eugene Wolfe, 77, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:36 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born August 10, 1945, in Decatur County, he was the son of the late Melvin and Erma (Cox) Wolfe. He Married Rose Marie Ranger on April 18, 1976, at the Methodist Church in North Vernon; she preceded him in death on March 7, 2020.

Dale was a 1963 graduate of North Vernon High School and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a master electrician for Golden Casting in Columbus for 40 years and then went to work for Hilex in North Vernon for 10 years. He was a member of Nebraska Church of God in Nebraska where he served as a trustee and was a member of St. John Masonic Lodge in Columbus. Dale enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, working on mowers, muzzle loaders, camping, westerns and was a history buff. He also loved his dogs, Maggie and Foxy Girl.

Survivors include sons, Chad (Dawn) Smith in Columbus and Greg Yates of North Vernon; daughters, Terry (Kerry Black) Peters of Greensburg, Robin (Jeff) Patterson, Dalena (James) Roberson, Kimberly Jane Wolfe, all of North Vernon; sister, Donna Wolfe of Commiskey; Ex-wife, Enola William Padgett of Dupont; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; daughter, Paula Jean Wolfe; sons, Michael Ray Yates, Jerry Lee Yates, and Emmett Edwin “JR” Yates; and sister, Sue Ellen Wolfe.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Bobby Leahigh officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Dale through the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
