NEW ALBANY
Benjamin, Brage B passed away Monday, at his home in New Albany. The first of two sons and a daughter, he was born on September 29, 1955 in Louisville. Benjamin was a business owner with his brother Bruce in Central Indiana for 25 years, following the tradition of his grandfather Clarence “Pop” Benjamin. He passed in the care of his partner, Melissa D. Jaques. The entire family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Melissa, who lovingly cared for Brage.
He is proceeded in death by grandparents Clarence Brage &Minna Benjamin, Walter K. &Alma Shacklett, and stepfather Joey H. Summers.
He is survived by his parents Clarence “Sonny” “Dash” Benjamin of Snowmass, CO and Nancy Summers of Clarksville, IN; brother Bruce Benjamin (Marcia) of Columbus, IN; sister Samantha Huber (John) of Sellersburg, IN; mother of his children Christi Stewart (Scott) of New Albany, IN; son and daughter Dustin Brage Benjamin (Katy) of Johns Island, SC and Hana Rose Toupin (David Neil) of Lexington, KY who knew him as “Pops”; and granddaughters Wren &Lilou Toupin who knew him as “Grandslappy”.
A celebration of life will be held October 2nd from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Covered Bridge Golf Club. 12510 Covered Bridge Rd., Sellersburg, IN 47172
