East tops Edinburgh

Katie Hong won medalist honors with a 40 to lead Columbus East to a 179-214 win against Edinburgh Tuesday at Otter Creek.

Carter Gant added a 41 for the Olympians. Lilly Steinwedel and Grace LaSell each shot 49, Ali Trueblood and Avery Brooks each shot 52 and Dyana Foster had a 53.

Izzy Richardson led the Lancers with a 46. Jillian Turner carded a 54, Hannah Pile and Macie Blandford each shot 57, Gracie Myers added a 58, Cloee Britton had a 68 and Bella Turner finished with a 72.

Panthers top Eagles

NASHVILLE — Alexis Carson won medalist honors with a 40 to lead Jennings County to a 182-209 win against Brown County at Salt Creek.

Sophia Curry carded a 41 for the Panthers. Lauren Galvan added a 48, Rachael Manning shot 53 and Shelby Davis had a 62.

Lilly VanNess led the Eagles with a 48. Hannah deWeerdt carded a 51, Chloe Poling added a 53, Ava Stogsdill shot 57 and Savannah Poling had a 68.

Carmel edges North

INDIANAPOLIS — No. 7 Columbus North won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, but No. 2 Carmel took the other three spots to claim a 3-2 victory in a match played at Southport.

Hank Lin beat Jonathan Yang 7-5, 3-0, retired at No. 1 singles for the Bull Dogs (7-2). Anvay Atram and Amrit Kar topped Dylan Ball and Braeden McIntyre 6-0, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.

North’s Darren Li fell to Jack Lentz at No. 2 singles, and Toki Murabatshi lost to Rocky Li at No. 3 singles, both by 6-1, 6-0 scores. Parth Shah and Parth Gupta fell to Charlie Hall and Drew Willman 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Jets blank Spartans

SHELBYVILLE — Hauser dropped only six games in four contested matches and won No. 3 singles by forfeit in a 5-0 Mid-Hoosier Conference win at Southwestern (Shelby).

Caleb Wallace beat Kyle Beck 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Jackson Burcham topped James Oliver 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for the Jets (3-6, 3-1).

Hauser’s Levi Gollmer and Hunter Pappano blanked Carter Snepp and Cris Cecil 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Jentzen Bechtel and Kameron Blair defeated Josh Wenger and Ben Schlabach 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Panthers nip Rebels

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County pulled out a three-set win at No. 1 doubles to claim a 3-2 victory against Southwestern (Hanover).

Owen Law beat Carter Harmon 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Parker Bales topped Braden Helton 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for the Panthers (7-2). Justin Ramey and Ryan Schuck defeated Jordan DeAtley and Mason Lichlyter 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Jennings’ Janne Sebastian fell to Brady Cook 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Alex Leach and Ty Zohrlaut lost to Tanner Jacobs and Braxton Lewis 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Cougars sweep North

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus North came close in the first two sets in taking a 25-21, 25-23, 25-13 Conference Indiana loss at Bloomington North.

Emily Stair led the Bull Dogs (3-6, 0-1) with 16 digs and two aces. Logan Branstetter pounded seven kills, Emma Burns recorded nine assists and Elaina Penrod had seven blocks.

Also for Columbus North, Penrod, Karen Dutro and Katelynn Mabis all added three kills. Reese Edwards notched five assists and one ace, and Kaitlin White had six blocks.

Columbus Christian falls

INDANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian endured a 25-16, 25-7, 25-15 loss at Indy Genesis.

Anika Jenkins led the Crusaders (1-4) with three kills, two digs and two aces. Grace Johnson recorded five assists and two digs, Emma Murray had two blocks and Alexys Murray notched two digs.

Also for Columbus Christian, Emma Murray pounded two kills, Jenkins had one block and Emma Sewell added two assists and one ace.

Eagles sweep Patriots

NASHVILLE — Brown County had little trouble in rolling to a 25-12, 25-15, 25-18 Western Indiana Conference win against Owen Valley.

Morgan Osborn led the Eagles (3-5, 2-1) with 13 assists and eight digs. Anna Stogsdill pounded 11 kills, Madi Hawley recorded 13 assists, Abigail Watson had two blocks and Londyn Koester served three aces.

Also for Brown County, Stogsdill tallied five assists, one block and two aces. Watson notched nine kills and two aces, and Hawley added three kills and five digs.

Lancers win in 5

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh dropped close second and fourth sets, but cruised in the other three for a 25-20, 26-28, 25-17, 24-26, 15-5 win against Oldenburg Academy.

Gracie Crawhorn led the Lancers (9-2) with 12 kills, eight blocks, 35 digs and seven aces. Kyah Streeval recorded 35 assists.

Also for Edinburgh. Zoey Sida tallied six kills and 17 digs and MacKenzie Bieker tallied five kills, six blocks and 19 digs. Jessica Walsh added four kills and 24 digs, Mia Dodson had three blocks and Streeval notched 19 digs.

Trinity upsets Lions

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran won a close first set, then rolled in the final two to upset Class A No. 2 Loogootee 27-25, 25-13, 25-11.

Addison Darlage recorded 36 assists and one ace, and Laura Roeder had 27 digs and one ace to lead the Cougars (6-4). Bailey Tabeling pounded 21 kills and Kiley Zabel served one aces.

Also for Trinity, Carson Bowling tallied 14 kills, Drew Hubbard added seven kills and 10 digs, and Tabeling had 12 digs.

Jets fall to Saints

INDIANAPOLIS — Hauser had a penalty kick early in the game to take the lead, but hit the crossbar, and Class A No. 18 Indianapolis Lutheran went on to post a 4-0 victory.

The Saints outshot the Jets (0-3) 16-6. Will Walters posted nine saves, and Luke Bruner added three saves.

Mustangs clip Eagles

NASHVILLE — Brown County got a goal from Cameron Higgins, but dropped a 5-1 WIC decision to Edgewood.

Bradley Arndt recorded three saves for the Eagles (0-5, 0-3).
