Four-way stop planned at 24th and Cottage

The Columbus Board of Works has approved the installation of an all-way stop at 24th Street and Cottage Avenue.

City Engineer/Executive Director of Public Works Dave Hayward presented the recommendation to the board after receiving a request to make the change and reviewing site information. He noted in a memo that the intersection currently has stop signs for westbound and eastbound traffic on 24th Street.

“There’s a lot of pedestrian activity there, especially with the lunch hour,” Hayward told the board. “We’ve looked at this intersection in the past a couple times since the filling station and convenience store went in there. And it’s gotten to the point where it needs a little extra help, so we’re going to put in a four-way stop and see what that does.”
