North edges Cougars

BLOOMINGTON — Maddi Rutan scored an unassisted goal Monday night to lead Columbus North to a 1-0 win at Bloomington North.

Mallory Gilley posted five saves for the Bull Dogs (5-4-2, 2-0-1).

Jets fall to Seymour

SEYMOUR — Hauser fell to a powerhouse Seymour team 25-13, 25-13, 25-9.

Kenze Bostic recorded five kills and two blocks, Adrianna Musillami had 11 assists and two aces and Charlie Clark notched 12 digs and two aces to lead the Jets (11-4). Paige McDaniel also had two blocks.

Also for Hauser, Clark pounded four kills, Gracie Blair recorded one assist, Aniston Bostic had one block, Musillami tallied five digs and Mattie Foster added three digs.

Columbus Christian wins

Columbus Christian posted its second consecutive Southern Roads Conference win, a 25-12, 25-9, 25-18 victory against Medora.

Anika Jenkins led the Crusaders (3-6, 2-1) with five kills and one dig. Emma Sewell recorded eight assists, Alexys Murray and Madyson Murray each notched one dig and Emma Murray served eight aces.

Also for Columbus Christian, Johnson tallied three kills and seven assists, and Alexys Murray pounded three kills. Jenkins served seven aces.

Chargers sweep Lancers

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh came close in the first set, but took its first Mid-Hoosier Conference loss, a 27-25, 25-13, 25-12 setback to North Decatur.

Gracie Crawhorn recorded five kills, five blocks and 13 digs, and Kyah Streeval had 10 assists and two aces to lead the Lancers (10-4, 3-1).

Also for Edinburgh, MacKenzie Bieker tallied three blocks and seven digs, and Mia Dodson pounded three kills. Jessica Walsh notched nine digs, Kyah Streeval added six digs and Kenna Streeval served one ace.

Trinity sweeps Cubs

MADISON — Class A No. 4 Trinity Lutheran posted a 25-19, 25-18, 25-19 win at Madison.

Laura Roeder led the Cougars (12-5) with 17 digs and five aces. Bailey Tabeling pounded 18 kills, and Addison Darlage recorded 37 assists.

Also for Trinity, Carson Bowling pounded 14 kills, and Ava Blomenburg added four kills and eight digs. Cheyenne Campbell served two aces.

GIRLS GOLF

East falls to Batesville

No. 6 Batesville was on fire in a 141-176 win against Columbus East at Otter Creek.

Carter Gant led the Olympians with a 39, Katie Hong carded a 43, Lilly Steinwedel added a 44, Dyana Foster shot 50, Grace LaSell had a 52, Ali Trueblood shot 53 and Avery Brooks had a 54.

Panthers win tri match

MADISON — Sophia Curry won medalist honors with a 37 to lead Jennings County to a tri-match win at St. Anne’s. The Panthers finished with a 191 team total to 203 for Seymour and 212 for Madison.

Alexis Carson carded a 48 for Jennings. Lauren Galvan added a 52, Shelby Davis shot 54 and Rachael Manning had a 63.

BOYS TENNIS

Panthers down Warriors

SCOTTSBURG — Jennings County won four matches in straight sets in a 4-1 win at Scottsburg.

Owen Law beat Jace Luttrell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Parker Bales blankes Jonah Copple 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Isaac Lightner topped Carson Jones 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (11-4). Alex Leach and Ty Zohrlaut defeated Sammy Craig and Cason Owens 6-1, 6-3.

Jennings’ Justin Ramey and Ryan Schuck fell to Mayson Cutter and Noah Bagwell 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Trinity tops Eagles

SEYMOUR — Brown County won the No. 1 singles match, but Trinity Lutheran took the other four to post a 4-1 victory.

Nathan Volker beat Jon Kirchhofer 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles, and Nathan Finke won by forfeit at No. 3 singles for the Cougars.

Trinity’s Jack Stuckwish and Jonathan Neawedde topped Owen East and Trevor Shields 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Max Peters and Will Gausmann defeated Sawyer Gore and Brandon Saechao 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Jack Sichting earned the point for the Eagles (2-13) with a 2-6, 7-6(4), (10-5) win against Soloman Hall at No. 1 singles.

Owls blank Lancers

EDINBURGH — Seymour won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win at Edinburgh.

Max Blandford fell to Eli Meyer 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Austin Brockman lost to Hunter Fleckman 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Milas Burkman fell to Reuben Kruse 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Lancers (5-7).

Edinburgh’s Bailey Totten and Braylon Lenkner lost to Jack Von Deilingen and Joe Schmidt 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Teddy Crawhorn and Jayson Music fell to Parker Thompson and Drew Handloser 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
