Jets sweep Cougars

HOPE — Hauser remained unbeaten in the Mid-Hoosier Conference with a 25-12, 25-19, 25-19 win against South Decatur on Thursday.

Kenze Bostic led the Jets (13-4, 3-0) with 16 kills and six blocks. Adrianna Musillami recorded 33 assists, Kyra Meister notched eight digs and Kayden Miller served seven aces.

Also for Hauser, Charlie Clark tallied nine kills, six digs and one ace, and Mattie Foster had one assist, eight digs and two aces. Miller pounded six kills, Gracie Blair had one assist and Aniston Bostic added one block.

The Cougars fell to 9-10 overall and 0-4 in the MHC.

East falls in four

NEW ALBANY — Columbus East won the first set, but New Albany rallied for an 18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-17 Hoosier Hills Conference win.

Gabby Dean recorded 15 kills and three solo and three assist blocks, and Erin Williams had 22 assists and 13 digs to lead the Olympians (8-8, 2-3). Caroline Frost served three aces.

Also for East, Maddie Cline tallied 11 kills, two assist blocks and eight digs, and Jenna Guse had two assist blocks and nine digs. Kenzie Foster notched 11 digs, and Addison Emery added six digs and two aces.

Columbus Christian wins

ELLETTSVILLE — Columbus Christian won for the third time in the past four matches, a 25-23, 25-19, 25-19 victory at Seven Oaks.

Grace Johnson led the Crusaders (4-7) with nine assists and four aces. Anika Jenkins pounded eight kills, Mariah Holt had two blocks and Emma Murray and Eden Ridder each notched three digs.

Also for Columbus Christian, Emma Murray tallied four kills and two assists, and Alexys Murray had three kills and three aces. Emma Sewell recorded five assists and three aces, and Paige Harden added two digs.

Lancers top Eagles

EDINBURGH — Brown County won the first set, but Edinburgh took the final three to post a 23-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 victory.

Gracie Crawhorn led the Lancers (11-4) with eight kills, six blocks and one ace. Kyah Streeval recorded 21 assists, Jessica Walsh notched 24 digs and Zoey Sida served one ace.

Also for Edinburgh, MacKenzie Bieker tallied six kills, five blocks and 15 digs. Sida added four kills and 21 digs, Mia Dodson had two blocks, Crawhorn posted 22 digs.

The Eagles fell to 5-9.

BOYS TENNIS

Owls blank Olympians

Seymour won all five matches in straight sets to hand Columbus East a 5-0 defeat in a match played at Columbus North.

Erik Takahashi fell to Eli Meyer at No. 1 singles, and Matthew Degner lost to Hunter Heckman at No. 2 singles, both by 6-2, 6-2 scores for the Olympians (5-10). Brady Redelman fell to Reuben Kruse 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

East’s Ethan Bumbalough and Jacob Dettmer lost to Jack VonDielingen and Joe Schmidt 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Tyler Ernst and Henry Ulrich fell to Parker Thompson and Drew Handloser 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Trinity edges Jets

SEYMOUR — Hauser won both doubles matches, but Trinity Lutheran swept the singles matches to pull out a 3-2 victory.

The Cougars’ Soloman Hall beat Caleb Wallace 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Jack Stuckwisch topped Jackson Burcham 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Nathan Finke defeated Hagan Wiedersatz 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Hauser’s Levi Gollmer and Hunter Pappano beat Jonathan Neawedde and Nathan Voelker 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 doubles. Jentzen Bechtel and Kameron Blair topped Will Gaussman and Max Peters 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles for the Jets (4-10).

Lancers blank Saints

INDIANAPOLIS — Edinburgh dropped only eight games in the four contested matches in a 5-0 win at Indianapolis Lutheran.

Max Blandford beat JT Anderson at No. 1 singles, and Austin Brockman blanked Isaac Vance at No. 2 singles, both by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Milas Burkman topped Joe Amstutz 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

The Lancers’ Bailey Totten and Braylon Lenkner defeated Josh Amstutz and Matthew Naing 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 dobules. Edinburgh (6-8) won by forfeit at No. 2 doubles.

GIRLS GOLF

Lancers win tri match

EDINBURGH — Izzy Richardson won medalist honors with a 42, and Edinburgh closed the regular season with a tri-match win at Timbergate. The Lancers scored a 202 to 248 for Southwestern (Shelby) and 261 for North Decatur.

Macie Blandford carded a 50 for Edinburgh. Jillian Turner added a 53, Gracie Myers shot 57 and Cloee Britton had a 62.

GIRLS SOCCER

Panthers fall to Dragons

SELLERSBURG — Jennings County was within 1-0 at halftime, but fell to Silver Creek 3-0.

Alayna Phillips posted 18 saves for the Panthers (3-7-1).

Tiger Cubs top Eagles

GREENCASTLE — Brown County came away with a 4-1 Western Indiana Conference loss at Greencastle.

Savannah Oden scored the goal off an asist from Sophie Mathis for the Eagles (3-3-1, 3-3). Anna Tipton recorded nine saves.

Lions slip past Eagles

BLOOMINGTON — Carter Norcutt recorded a hat trick, but Brown County lost 5-3 at Bloomington Lighthouse.

Calaen Stanley had two assists, and Ethan Scott added one assist for the Eagles (1-7). Bradley Arndt posted three saves, and Mareck Reeves had two saves.
