Roncalli sweeps East

INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus East came away with a 25-20, 25-12, 25-17 loss Thursday at Roncalli.

Chloe Gilley led the Olympians (14-11) with 11 digs and one ace. Maddie Cline pounded eight kills, Erin Williams recorded 24 assists and Gabby Dean had four solo and one assist block.

Also for East, Caroline Frost tallied six kills and two assist blocks, and Jenna Guse added six kills. Williams had two assist blocks and seven digs and Kenzie Foster notched nine digs.

North falls to Franklin

FRANKLIN — Columbus North came close in the first and third sets in a 25-21, 25-14, 25-23 loss at Franklin.

Karen Dutro pounded 10 kills, Reese Edwards recorded 13 assists, Kennedy Horn had four blocks, Emily Stair notched 11 digs and Logan Branstetter and Emma Burns each served one ace to lead the Bull Dogs (11-15).

Also for North, Branstetter tallied seven kills, Burns added nine assists, Dutro had three blocks and Roselynn Venegas contributed eight digs.

Brown County wins

NASHVILLE — Brown County wrapped up its regular season with 25-17, 25-19, 25-16 Western Indiana Conference win against South Putnam

Abigail Watson pounded 10 kills, Madilyn Hawley recorded 15 assists, Anna Stogsdill and Liz Roush each had two blocks, Londyn Koester notched 16 digs and Emma Lucas served four aces to lead the Eagles (10-15, 7-3).

Also for Brown County, Stogsdill tallied six kills, and Osborn had nine assists and three aces. Cady Kemp added one block, and Lucas contributed seven digs.

GIRLS SOCCER

Panthers move to final

NEW ALBANY — Jennings County advanced to the New Albany Sectional final with a 3-0 semifinal win against Bedford North Lawrence.

Bree Galyen, Manto Vadell Perello and Maddy McIntosh scored goals for the Panthers (5-10-2). McIntosh had two assists, and Galnay added one assist.

Jennings will play Floyd Central in the sectional final at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Pioneers blank Eagles

SEYMOUR — Class A No. 2 Providence handed Brown County a 9-0 defeat in the semifinals of the Trinity Lutheran Sectional.

Anna Tipton recorded nine saves for the Eagles (4-5-1).

Trinity tops Austin

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran advanced to the final of its own sectional with a 6-0 semifinal win against Austin.

Emma Myers netted four goals for the Cougars (9-6). Delaney Williams and and Layla Jones also scored goals, and Kathryn Whitmore, Bailey Reimer, Dianna Munoz and Kaydence Miller all had assists for Trinity, which outshot Austin 30-2.

Trinity will play Providence at 2 p.m. Saturday.
