Many people are more than a little upset at President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party for sky high gas prices and costly groceries. Unfortunately, inflation is a worldwide problem, with many countries experiencing higher rates than ours. The United Kingdom, for example, is 9.9% vs. 8.3% here. Inflation is predicted to decrease over the next year. Of course, that knowledge does not help you when you go to the pump. You may be angry and feel like, what have they done for the last two years besides cost me money?
The Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan that provided many benefits such as $2,800 per family cash in your bank account, $300 per week in extra unemployment benefits, $300 per month per child in cash payments. All passed by Democrats without any Republican votes for you and your family!
In addition to helping your family, the plan provided a whopping $8.5 million to Columbus and for Bartholomew County, $16,273,089.

In addition, the recently passed inflation reduction plan provides many additional benefits for you to help save our planet. If you need a furnace, $8,000 for a highly efficient heat pump. For a new car, $7,500 for that new electric vehicle you’ve been wanting. In addition, the act provides up to $14,000 in rebates to switch over to electric appliances — covering up to 50% of the costs for moderate-income households and 100% of the costs for low-income households.

No help for you and your family from the Republicans, all passed by Democrats alone. Yes, capping drug costs for seniors was not something the GOP was interested in supporting.
Meanwhile, these recalcitrant Republicans have been busy taking away your freedom and benefits. Fifteen states passed restrictive abortion laws with no exception for rape or incest. Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham proposes a national ban on abortions. Republican Senators Rick Scott and Ron Johnson propose taking away the guarantee of Social Security and Medicare. Your vote is important. Please remember the many benefits delivered by the Democratic Party over the last two years, while the Republicans tried to stop everything. Look at what the Republican Party is pushing for above and imagine what will happen to your freedom and benefits if they are elected. Please vote.
