Trinity falls in semifinal

LOOGOOTEE — Class A No. 4 Trinity Lutheran won the first two sets Saturday, but No. 2 Tecumseh rallied for a 12-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17, 15-7 win in the semifinals of the Loogootee Regional.

Carson Bowling recorded 12 digs and three blocks, and Addison Darlage had 44 assists and two aces to lead the Cougars (23-11). Laura Roeder notched 12 digs.

Dragons overtake Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County took a 42-41 lead with less than a minute to play Friday night, but Silver Creek scored the go-ahead touchdown in the closing seconds and added another on a fumble return to claim a 53-42 win in an opening round Class 2A sectional game.

Parker Elmore completed 12 of 13 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns, and Brandon Braun carried 21 times for 190 yards and three scores to lead the Panthers (3-7). Matt Hines caught five passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns, and Skylar Lewis had one catch for 25 yards and a score.

Austin Byford led the defense with 10 tackles.

Lancers take defeat

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh was within 6-3 at halftime Friday, but Knightstown scored three touchdowns in the first 5:07 of the second half to pull away for a 26-9 win in a first-round Class A sectional matchup.

Caleb Dewey scored on a 7-yard pass from Jarrett Turner for the Lancers (4-5). Enrique Callejas booted a 39-yard field goal.

Milan tops Cougars

MILAN — South Decatur saw its season come to an end with a 68-6 loss at Milan in an opening-round Class A sectional game.

The Cougars finished 5-5.

Eagles finish winless

NASHVILLE — Brown County’s season ended with a 61-7 loss to Brownstown Central in a first-round Class 2A sectional matchup.

The Eagles finished 0-10.
