North trio selected All-State in tennis

The Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association recently released its All-State awards for this year.

Columbus North’s Hank Lin was named to the First-Team Singles, and the North duo of Anvay Atram and Amrit Kar was named to the First-Team Doubles. North’s Austin Clark and Jennings County’s Owen Law and Parker Bales were named Honorable Mention Singles, and North’s Parth Gupta and Parth Shah were named Honorable Mention Doubles.

Law also was selected for this year’s Boys Senior All-Star tennis event that will be held on Sunday at the Community Sports and Fitness Facility in Pendleton. The players are divided into four teams, and Law will be representing the Southeast team.

All-HHC teams announced

The All-Hoosier Hills Conference teams in boys and girls soccer and boys tennis recently were announced.

Columbus East’s Cam Trueblood, Justin Sylva and Pete Coriden and Jennings County’s Nathan Davis are on the boys soccer first team. East’s Ben Sylva, Jake Hofelich and Eduardo Aranda Michel are Honorable Mention.

In girls soccer, East’s Allison Craig, Norah Dwenger, Nadia Harris and Anna Liimatta and Jennings’ Abby McDonald and Maddie McIntosh were named to the first team. East’s Sydney Berkemeier, Ruth Federle, Kylie Hatcher and Hallie Randle and Jennings’s Alayna Phillips are honorable mention.

In boys tennis, Jennings’ Owen Law was named First-Team Singles. The Panthers’ Parker Bales is Honorable Mention Singles, and Justin Ramey and Ryan Schuck are Honorable Mention Doubles.

Gant, Hong share East golf MVP

The Columbus East girls golf team recently held its postseason banquet.

Carter Gant and Katie Hong earned co-MVP honors. Avery Brooks received the Most Improved Award, and Ali Trueblood received the Olympian Award.
