Russel O. Hollinger

Russel O. Hollinger, 92, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Mr. Hollinger was the youngest of eleven children, he was born May 18, 1930, in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, the son of Paul F. and Esther S. Klopp Hollinger.

He married Betty Norris Krummel November 14, 1953. She preceded him in death February 4, 2012.

Russel was a former carpenter and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War serving in the Airway &Air Communication Tower.

A life member of the Disabled American Veterans, served as the state commander of the Disabled American Veterans from 1992 -1993 and was a past member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and AMVETS.

Survivors include his children, Russel W. (Mary) Hollinger and Cathy (Doug) Brown both of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Scott (Jenny) Hollinger, Shauna (John) Sidhom, Chandra (Brad) Williams, Victoria (Lincoln) Bates, Polly (Jason) Jacques, Jessica Laboda, Jason (Denise) Jones and Julie (Dion) Speer; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; also his extended family the Lynch, Michaels and Kunze families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Steven Hollinger; daughter-in-law, Kim Hollinger; six brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. F. Doran Chambers officiating.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of service.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at South Park Cemetery in Greensburg with Military Honors presented by the United States Air Force Ceremonial Unit and American Legion Post 129 Honor Guard.
