Olympians win opener

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus East used a big fourth quarter Tuesday to rally for a 58-53 season-opening win at Bloomington South.

The Olympians led 31-30 at halftime, but trailed 44-38 after three quarters. They outscored the Panthers 20-9 in the final period.

Saige Stahl led East with 21 points and six rebounds. Leah Bachmann had nine points and six rebounds, Maeleigh Roberts scored eight points and Jenna Guse and Allison Craig each added seven points.

Jets notch first win

MILAN — Kyle Shipp picked up his first win as Hauser coach with a 48-33 win at Milan.

The Jets led only 9-6 after one quarter, but used a 20-2 advantage in the second quarter to take a 29-8 halftime lead. Hauser led 43-17 after three quarters.

Madelyn Poe led the Jets (1-1) with 17 points. Adrianna Musillami scored 10, and Kyliegh Parrott added seven.

Cougars stay unbeaten

GREENSBURG — South Decatur jumped out to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and went on to post a 65-46 Mid-Hoosier Conference win against Morristown.

Makayla Somers led the Cougars (3-0, 2-0) with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Kiley Best scored 14 points, Molly Eden had 13 points, and Paige McQueen added 10 points.
