Janice Mahoney

COLUMBUS

Janice Arlene Mahoney, 83 of Columbus, passed away on November 28, 2022 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Jan was born May 16, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Thomas Collingsworth and Leona Gebhart. Jan’s greatest joy in life was her great-grandchildren, she spent endless hours crafting, shopping, and bowling with them. Jan was an avid bowler and was inducted into the 2006 Columbus USBC Hall of Fame. She served as the vice president and director of Columbus USBC association and held the office of director, vice president, and president in the now retired women’s association, and was also a member of the Thursday night women’s league for many years. Jan won a family two-some bowling tournament with her great-granddaughter, Isabella. Jan also spent many summers on the Ohio River with her “river rat” friends. Well known for her crafting abilities; she enjoyed making home decorations with her entire family and enjoyed showing off her work at craft shows, especially the 12 Dames of Christmas. Her “top secret” dumpling recipe will be kept for generations to come as they are a favorite to the entire family.

Mrs. Mahoney is survived by her daughter Bev (Tony) Corum; two grandchildren; Kylee (Chris) Jones and Jordan (Alexa) Bunch; step-grandchildren; Nick Corum and Chris Corum; eight great-grandchildren, Alexis, Elizabeth, Isabella, Emersyn, Zeke, Silas, E.J., and Jackson. Jan is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and life-long friends.

Jan is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald in 2006; her daughter, Vicki Fivecoat; her brother, Raymond Collingsworth; sisters, Ruby Linville and Patsy Story and great-grandson Keenan Marcus Jones.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Our Hospice for their care and support.
