Larry Steven Foster

TAYLORSVILLE, INDIANA

Larry Steven Foster, 75, a lifelong resident of Taylorsville, Indiana, passed from this life at 12:01 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Department.

Steve was born in Columbus, March 28, 1947, the son of the late Keith E. and Wilma Jean Davis Foster. On February 9, 1968, Steve married Mary Lou Poe; she survives.

Steve was a 1965 graduate of Columbus High School and furthered his education at Lincoln Technical Institute. Steve served in the Indiana Army National Guard for many years. Early in life, Steve was employed at Sap’s Bakery and Reeves Pulley Company. He then started a long career as an equipment technician working for and retiring from the federal government and then retiring from the State of Indiana.

Steve was a lifelong member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church. He had a passion for antique tractors; he enjoyed collecting and restoring them and he enjoyed his membership in the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association. Steve will be remembered as one that enjoyed mowing his grass.

Steve will be remembered by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou; sons, Todd (Lori) Foster of Taylorsville; Mark (Amy) Foster of Columbus, Jason (Amy) Foster of Taylorsville, and David (Christina) Foster of Columbus; grandchildren, Dustin (Alesha), Kaylee (Keegan), Andrew, Kyle (Morgan), Corey (Shayla), Ashley (Josh), Brittany (Austin), Nick, and Paige (Jarret); five great-grand Grandchildren; siblings, Jane, Jeff, and Donnie; and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Wilma Jean Foster.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Steve can be made to the Taylorsville United Methodist Church.
