Rock Crest Raceway names 2022 track champions

Rock Crest Raceway in Vernon has named its track champions for the 2022 racing season. The track was formerly known as Twin Cities Raceway Park.

Columbus native William Burton, who now resides in North Vernon, was named the pure stock division champion for 2022. Donnie Wilson of North Vernon was second in points to Burton, with Danny Hupp of Scipio, Willie Sallee of Columbus and Mickey Hines of Scipio rounding out the top five in points for this season.

The rest of the top 10 pure stock competitors were Jeff Cranmer, Terry Turner, Keaton Streeval, Justin Walters and Daniel Hall. Turner, a Columbus native who resides in Franklin, won the most improved driver award.

Blake Hull of Nebraska was crowned the super stock track champion for this year. Brent McMillan of North Vernon was second in points, followed by Ross Smith of Columbus, Hupp and Troy Knorr of Columbus. The remainder of the top 10 were Greg Amick, Austin Perry, Branden Carr, Trent Adams and Josh Turner.

Jacob Owens from North Vernon was the top driver in the hornet division, winning the championship over Davey Waggoner of North Vernon, Brian Pollitt of Connersville, Michael Brewer of North Vernon and Warren Laufer of Madison. Completing the top 10 in this year’s hornet class were Kia Wingate, William Wingate, Zach Johnson and Matt Miller.

Paragon names champions

Paragon Speedway has named its division champions for the 2022 racing season. Tim Creech II won the 410 sprint car division title over Cody Trammell, Jackson Slone, Ricky Lewis and Michael Clark. The rest of the top 10 were Pat Giddens, David Hair, Kyle Shipley, Jake Scott and Carl Rhuebottom.

Michael Clark won the steel-block division championship Billy Winseman was second, followed by Steven Hobbs, Dave Gross and Chad Freeman. John Johnson led the next five in points, with Dan Ingram, Bryan Schroeter, Tony Helton and Steve Hair completing the top 10 drivers.

Derek Groomer was the top driver in the open wheel modified division over Jake Leitzman, Jarod Deckard, Bobby Davis and Tom Cox. Matthew Cooley, Richie Lex, Steve Haefke, A.J. Pace and Jordan Wever completed the top 10.

Josh Litton was the super stock track champion for 2022. Justin Litton finished second, with Jeff Allen, Randy Brawley and Nic Leitzman trailing. The next five were Brad Cummings, Douglas McCullough, Bryce Shidler, Steve Hollars and Austin Phelps.

Topher Hillman captured the hornet division championship over Alex Wilson, Kemper Freeman, Caleb Arthur and Josh Arthur. A.J. Hobbs led the next five over Allen Hobbs, Mark Houston, Jeremy Wilson and Dale Hobbs.

Jason Trimmer II was the bomber division champion over Kate Grigsby, Brenden Birkle, Jason Trader and Tony Mullis. Mike Moody led the next five over Juan Asbury, Roger Absher, Mark Smith and Ethan Litton.
