COLUMBUS
Janet R. Hankins, 79, of Columbus passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Columbus Regional Health.
Janet was born in Harrison, Ohio October 4, 1943, the daughter of John Edward and Carrie Belle Dorst Roessler. She married William D. Hankins in Vevay, Indiana; he preceded her in death Saturday December 10, 2022.
She was an Executive Secretary at Cummins Engine Company, retiring after over 30 years of service. A member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, she enjoyed traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her son, Shane (Nancy) Hankins of Columbus; half-sister, Janice (Sonny) Peters of Vevay; grandchildren, Sawyer (Kara) Hankins of Greenwood, Alexa (Jake) Friedly of Greenwood, Rylee (Jake) Carlile of Columbus, Max and Mason Hankins of Indianapolis, step-grandchildren, Alexa Zeller and Triston Perry of Indianapolis; 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Shawn Hankins; 2 brothers.
A private funeral service for Janet and William will be conducted at Garland Brook Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating. They will be entombed together in Garland Brook Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.
