The state election calendar calls for the first day of candidate filings for the May 2 primary to be Wednesday.
This year’s ballot will by a city primary, with mayoral and council races on the ballot.
It is also the first day to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate for the municipal election.
Filings are completed in person at the Bartholomew County Clerk’s office at the courthouse.
The deadline to file for the primary is Feb. 3, and the deadline to withdraw as a candidate is Feb. 10.
