Former CPD officer returns to force

The Columbus Police Department welcomed back a former officer who rejoined the department after being sworn in by Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop on Monday.

Officer John Searle (CPD #195) was previously a Columbus police officer from 2006 to 2016 and served the department as a K9 handler before returning back to Ohio to continue his law enforcement career.

In the upcoming days, Searle will start the Columbus Police Department’s field training program.

Searle attended Revere High School in Richfield, Ohio, and is a graduate of the University of Akron, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Management.
