Prep sports notebook: Stahl named to IBCA Supreme 15

Columbus East senior Saige Stahl has been selected to the 2023 Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Franciscan Health Girls Senior All-State Supreme 15.

Trinity Lutheran’s Bailey Tabeling was selected to the Small School Senior All-State. Columbus East’s Leah Bachmann and Columbus North’s Lauren Barker are Senior Honorable Mention selections.

Jennings County junior Juliann Woodard was named to the Underclass All-State Supreme 15. Trinity’s Madison Keith was Underclass Honorable Mention.

Stahl and Tabeling also were named to the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association All-State first team. Jennings County junior Juliann Woodard made the second team.

Stahl, Barker and Tabeling have been invited to participate in the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Girls Top 60 Senior Workout. The event will take place on Sunday at Beech Grove High School.

Olympians, Panthers named All-HHC

Columbus East senior Saige Stahl and Jennings County junior Juliann Woodard and freshman Mollie Ernstes have been named to the All-Hoosier Hills Conference girls basketball team.

East senior Leah Bachmann and junior Jenna Guse and Jennings sophomore Maddie McIntosh are honorable mention selections.

Locals selected to All-MHC teams

Hauser senior Kyliegh Parrott and junior Madelyn Poe, Edinburgh senior Gracie Crawhorn and South Decatur sophomores Kiley Best and Makayla Somers have been named to the All-Mid-Hoosier Conference girls basketball team. Hauser senior Adrianna Musillami and junior Kenze Bostic and South Decatur junior Molly Eden were named honorable mention.

On the boys side, Hauser sophomores Ledger Gelfius and Taeshaun Tungate, Edinburgh seniors Caleb Dewey and Jarrett Turner and South Decatur juniors Jacob Scruggs and Dorian Hacker were named All-MHC. South Decatur senior Dale Peters is an honorable mention selection.

Poe, Musillami named Jets MVPs

Junior Madelyn Poe and senior Adrianna Musillami have been selected MVPs of the Hauser girls basketball team.

Poe also was recognized for most steals, most deflections and best free-throw percentage, while Musillami had the most rebounds. Kyliegh Parrott had the most assists, Bella Kilps had the best field-goal percentage and Kenze Bostic had the most blocks.

Kilps also was named Most Improved and won ther Scholastic Award. Jaden Sims was named Junk Yard Dog, and Erykah Everroad won the Jet Award.

Sammy Mires won the JV MVP award.
